day 6 – six grey geese a laying vodka cranberry pomegranate holiday cocktail
What is your favorite vodka?
As long as I can remember, my favorite cocktail has been a vodka cranberry. The first thing to remember about a vodka cranberry is that you can add as little, or as much cranberry juice that you want. For this reason, it has always been a crowd pleaser at our house. The most important ingredient is, of course, the vodka! Everyone has their favorite, and mine has always been Grey Goose. The flavor of the vodka is particularly delicious, but I do have to admit that the bottle design won me over from the start. The minute I started thinking about six geese a laying, my mind immediately drifted to my favorite grey geese

cranberries + pomegranates = the holidays!
In addition to the mouth watering vodka, cranberries are the perfect nod to the holiday season. Their bright rich deep red color makes this holiday cocktail extra celebratory. And to elevate things to an even higher holiday level, why not add some pomegranates to the mix? The pomegranates add a burst of refreshing flavor, and they also look so festive on the top of your cocktail glass.

what would the holidays be without a garnish???
A point that is often overlooked when preparing holiday cocktails is the garnish. Garnishes can make or break a holiday cocktail presentation. And this vodka, cranberry, and pomegranate concoction is no exception! The holiday season makes everything more fun to garnish. For this cocktail, I decided to make some “frosted” rosemary sprigs to make things even more festive.

frosted, sugary, and festive!
Cocktail garnishes are so simple to make, and they add the perfect touch to your holiday cocktails. Simply combine sugar and water in a saute pan, add the garnish of your choice, and voila! The next step is to let your frosted creations cool on some parchment paper. I like to sprinkle some additional sugar on my frosted creations while they are cooling to make my garnish look like it just came in from a newly fallen snow. So grab your favorite vodka, cranberry, and pomegranate juice and get ready to celebrate!
