Sweet Drippy Peaches Coming Your Way
There are so many wonderful things about the end of summer. For one thing, our local farmers market is busting at the seams. To clarify, that means two trips to the car with all the delicious treasures! Peaches are one of the decadent treats of late summer. We buy them by the bagful and eat them with almost anything. Of course there are many ways to enjoy these amazing peaches. The obvious choice is just as a mouth watering fresh fruit. The second choice is on ice cream. (nod to my state being America’s dairyland!) The third choice is to fire up the grill and watch the sweet peaches caramelize into a tasty treat!

Tequila makes everything better! …. well almost everything!
I wanted to come up with an easy sauce that would emphasize the caramelized peaches. The sauce started with a blended orange drink. Our favorite is orange peach mango. Next I added freshly grated ginger and farmers market honey. Finely chopped jalapeno added a little spice to the mixture. Chopped cilantro and mint fresh from the farmers market made this sauce start to come to life! Hmmmm…it still needed a little something. I immediately thought of tequila! I love how tequila blends so beautifully with citrus and honey. Tequila adds just the right amount of zing to this particularly zippy sauce.

You know that you are on to something when your family, friends, and clients are scooping every last drop of sauce on to their plates. When your guests start with a half of a peach and end up eating two and a half, you know that you have a keeper! As soon as the farm stands have fresh peaches available, grab a bag and get grilling!

Place prepared peaches face side down on the grill
Grill the peaches for a few minutes, and then turn them a quarter turn and grill for 2 more minutes to create hashtag marks on the peaches
